This CD contains pieces primarily from the Pisendel collection, both well-known as well as most likely never before recorded pieces. A particular highlight are the pieces played on wire playing strings, a very rare treat. This may be the only contemporarily available CD on which one can hear wire strings played on a viola d'amore. The sound quality is quite different to both modern as well as gut strings.
