Biography	7 years violin/viola lessons during elementary and highschool, Allgemeine Musikschule Basel, Mrs. H. Leisinger. Private viola d'amore lessons since 2006, Dan Thomason, Los Angeles. Society member since 2006. Society webmaster since 2007.
Viola d'amore interests	I like the full sound quality of the viola d'amore, with its frequent use of chords and arpeggios. I favor pieces from the baroque time. I am working on a trilingual (French, German, English) edition of Milandre's (1777) Méthod facile pour la viol d'amour.
Other interests	Professional marine biologist working on systematics and evolution of marine snails. Additional information. Nature photography with SLR and 4x5 view camera. Cooking.
Instruments	Paul Hilaire, 1950. 7/7 roundback Commissioned luthier Devin Hough (Davis, California) to build new 7/7 flat back instrument, inspired by instrument of Benedict Wagner (1723) in Basel Musikinstrumentmuseum. Additional images. 2 baroque bows by Pieter Affourtit, 2007.
